We are seeking an experienced foster home for Baby Bird, a 25-year-old Meyers Parrot currently in rescue care.
This is NOT an adoption listing.
Baby Bird is vocal, social, and enjoys interaction and scritches, but he becomes overstimulated very quickly and may bite if boundaries are missed. He displays cage-based territorial reactivity and will lunge at movement near his enclosure. He is also aggressive toward other birds.
This behavior is arousal-based and territorial, not random aggression, and is manageable in the correct environment with an experienced handler.
Ideal foster home requirements:
• Single-bird household only
• Solid parrot experience required (Poicephalus experience strongly preferred)
• Comfortable managing cage boundaries and short, structured interaction sessions
• Willing to follow established diet and sleep schedule
• Able to provide periodic updates (photos/videos/check-ins)
A refundable foster deposit is required as a standard rescue safeguard and will be discussed after initial screening.
This placement is about stability, safety, and wellbeing for all birds involved.
Initial screening will be done in writing prior to any phone conversation.
If interested, please reply with:
• Your parrot experience
• Household setup
• Other animals in the home (if any)
• Your availability for foster care
