1984 Honda xr500r. Last year of the 500cc. Fresh out the shop. Rebuilt, bored cylinder, new piston, rings, rebuilt carbs etc. With paperwork. The dealer I took it to told me it needs a cam while they were rebuilding it. I bought one, gave it to them and they never even opened the damn thing and told me its the wrong one (even tho it's the exact part number they told me I needed). Not sure why they told me it needs one because it runs great with plenty of power. I took the valve caps off and eyeballed the cam and the lobes look fine

So needless to say, I have a new $350 cam for it too, that took a month to get here, for no reason.

Anyways, the thing runs great and is a beast of a bike. I used to ride it all the time couple years back, but really haven't ridden it much since we moved in to the new place. Payed $3800 for it 4 years ago, just payed $1200 getting it rebuilt. I don't expect to get what I have in it back out of it, and I know there's not a big market. But it is the only one around, atlesast in virginia that ive seen, that runs, rides, and is in as good of condition it's in. Looking to get $3500 for it, obo, may trade idk. Just let me know.
